Download Ryan Sawyer's Resume

My name is Ryan Thomas Sawyer. I am a twenty one year old, Computer Science student in my senior year at Endicott College. Three adjectives that quickly and accurately describe me are: passionate, motivated and spontaneous. I currently reside in Gloucester, MA but was born and raised in Berkshire County, MA and still call it home today. I love the outdoors and the “country” environment because it instills a great sense of peace in my life. I love snowshoeing, hiking, kayaking, skydiving, playing tennis, basketball, baseball, football and even just working outside doing groundwork, clearing brush, and getting my hands dirty! I also love my parents, grandparents, girlfriend, dog, and the rest of my family and friends unconditionally. Without them, I wouldn’t be the person I am today – end of story.

I have a strong passion for technology and politics. At the age of six, I fiddled around and took apart my Uncle Brian’s Windows 3.1 powered IBM circa 1994 (without his knowledge, heh heh). Growing up as a child, I always listened to the adults talk politics. Why? Well, quite frankly, I always wanted to be one. By learning that lingo and injecting my political (at the time, juvenile) opinions into conversation was my way of stepping into the adult world. Let’s just say that if computers didn’t exist then I would undoubtedly be a politician. I openly and proudly share my progressive political views. I’m always up for an honest and lively debate on the issues of any topic.

I have been actively working in the tech industry alongside formal school since I was 15, running my own computer repair and freelance web development business. Since then, I have also worked for several organizations including, Brilliant Computers, Endicott College, Neonet Technologies, and most recently, Ebsco Publishing. I have obtained CompTIA and Cisco certifications to directly complement my work as a computer technician, web developer, and network engineer. I possess a relentless and motivated entrepreneurial persona. This unwavering, internal drive has recently pushed me to co-found Oaysus, a new software start-up company focused on interactive, personal music delivery.
